Be My Valentine
Valentine's Day originated in early Christian times and was celebrated on, you guessed it, February 14th. This holiday was actually based on fabricated mythologies that centered around several St. Valentines. The day first became connected to romance during the Middle Ages, when flowers, candy and cards were presented to lovers as an expression of one's love. Nowadays we are more familiar with the red heart and winged cupid as symbols of the Day. Cupid with his arrow, pierces the heart which melts and then opens up to give and receive love. Gifts are offered to Women, often out of love, but just as often out of appeasement for some past disappointment.
